Philly Fans Love That Fightin' Spirit
Big news out of camp on Friday. Big hits were everywhere. Good news for the Eagles even though we aren't talking about the Eagles.
We are talking about are second favorite team the Carolina Panthers. During Friday's practice temperamental WR Steve Smith pounded the crap out of teammate Ken Lucas. The outcome of the butt whopping was a broken orbital bone for Lucas and trip home for Smith.
And we aren't talking about your typical training camp skirmish. After this beatdown Lucas should be filing assault and battery charges against Smith. This also isn't the first time that Smith attacked a helmetless teammate. In 2002 Smith punched teammate Anthony Bright during a film session. Looks like the anger management counseling didn't work!
Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, a player may be suspended for up to four games without pay for conduct detrimental to the team. Fighting your teammate equals conduct detrimental to your team. 4 game suspension without question!
Loving this Carolina dysfunctional family. Maybe this weekend Smith can go after Jake Delhomme. With each Panthers screw-up that number one pick becomes better and better.
So case closed. The Panthers or the NFL should suspend Smith even if that means an 0-4 start for our second favorite team.
