Thursday night was the perfect example of why the Eagles need to have a balanced offensive attack. Or more importantly, why the Eagles need to RUN the ball. When they run and have balance, more often than not, the Eagles are going to put up a W. This isn't my opinion it's a fact.
As Ray Didinger points out...Since the 2000 season, the Eagles are 52-10 in games when they have more rushing attempts than their opponents. Conversely the Eagles are only 35-39-1 when they have fewer rushing attempts.
To expand further on the point...The record for games where the Eagles have 30 or more rushing attempts is 37-5. The games when there are 20 or fewer rushes, the Eagles record is 9-23-1.
This season is a perfect example...In 2008 the Eagles have a 5-0 record in the games when they have more rushing attempts than their opponent. Sadly, the Eagles are only 1-5-1 when they have fewer rushing attempts than their opponent.
Seems obvious to me that the key to the Eagles having success is running the ball and not the pass heavy preference of Reid.
